The Lee Family PhD/MBA Program - PhD/MBA Dual Degree
Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences has partnered with
The Johnson School of Management at Cornell University to offer graduate students the option of earning an MBA degree in just 12 months. As part of the Lee Family MD/MBA, PhD/MBA Program, the PhD/MBA dual degree is designed for students who want to pursue a career in science and business, preparing them for leadership roles in pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, and other life sciences-related industries.
Students in the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences must complete their PhD degree requirements before they can begin the MBA program. They should apply to the Johnson School during their final year of graduate studies. It is highly recommended that they begin the application process the year preceding their anticipated entry into the Johnson School. They will then be able to join the Johnson School's Twelve-Month Option (TMO) program in the summer following the fulfillment of their PhD degree requirements and complete the MBA degree requirements by the following May.
Dual degree students are offered 15 credit hours of advanced standing and complete 20 hours of core and 25 hours of elective courses to fulfill the 60-hour requirement for the MBA program. The MBA degree is granted after the graduate student obtains the PhD degree.
Please visit the Johnson School's admissions page for application requirements and deadlines. Lee Family MD/MBA, PhD/MBA Program awardees are eligible for financial aid.
